Hi Friends,

I am planning to apply for a PR to Canada alongwith my wife. I would qualify above the 67 barrier in June. Should I apply directly or through some Consultant. Does it makes sence to go through some of the big shot consultants 'W*****" ect. or directly. If I apply directly what should I do. I went to the consultant and paid the initial fees. They gave me forms and also suggested me to write many essays (my reason to immigrate to Canada, my and my wives education and profession eperience). Do we require all these essays (I could not find the CIC website asking for essays). Are consultants worth the money paid to them (1 - 1.25 Lacks). Please guide me how to proceed. If I apply in June, I'll have everything ready (forms, xerox of everything Notorized, Marrige Certificate). Kindly advise.

why you want to pay to consultants????. No need for any consultant big or small. just fill the form yourself.than wait & wait. by the time you come to canada, you will be knowing everything about Canada .

Consultants, from I hear from you seem to be a big no-no!!

Just stay away from them.

If by June you pass through 67 points make sure you have these documents ready with you:

1. All transcripts from your universities sealed and stamped with the official stamp of the university.

2. Police certificates of any other country apart from India where you have resided for more than 6 months.

3. Bank statements or legal documentary evidence of any asset totalling roughly about $10,000 CN (if one applicant, for more check out the website of the consulate in Delhi).

4. Birth Certificates, Passport photo-copied and notarised.

5. Photo-copies (notarised) of all your educational qualifications that you are claiming points on.

6. Citizenship Card, Passport photo-copies (again, notarised) of any of your direct blood relation in Canada (if any).

7. Work experience reference letters from all your former/current employers describing the details of your job with reference to the National Occupational Code (NOC: This is a big list of all occupations in Canada, now the ones for which you may get points are the ones ending with 0,1,2 or 4. Look in the list and see if your field of profession has a code that ends with any of these numbers, then only can you claim points. For example if you are a chartered accountant then your NOC code will be 1111. This means that you can get points on this occupation because Canada needs such people. For occupations other than this you will not be able to claim points. May be for this bit you need expert advice or you can do it yourself provided you can do some research yourself.)

Basically you have to show documented evidence of everything that you claim points on. So far as this is concerned you need guidance, otherwise the rest is filling up of forms and such which is quite an easy job.

Another tedious feature is that you have to list down the addresses of all the places that you have lived/stayed at after the completion of 18 yrs.

I am sure we at Canadian Desi can help you. Just try and work on the above mentioned paperwork and the rest is a huge burst of procedures and waiting. In India it is long but you do see light at the end of the tunnel.

Remember just enjoy what you are doing and side by side work on this. You'll get through!

Dear Friend there is absolutely no difference between your direct application and through consultant. It is very simple form needs to be filled inby you as stated by one of our Desi above for you. If you need any assistance I am also willing to help you.
