Dear Vandemataram,

I was just like you before immigrating to Canada around 3 months back.A lot of doubts. Now I am experiencing the harsh realities. I do have Dubai experience of 14 yrs with a good & reputed Master degree from our country.

I donot want to discourage you, But the fact is that your experience either international/even from australia/uk is of no use here. There is a clear descrimination either you may like it or not.

If you are planning to come alone, it is fine. Only you may have to suffer. Then reagrding money, yes our Dirham is good compared to to IRs. But still there are other factors which you may learn once you land here, like taxes, high prices ..etc.
Out of all pros and corns, as a dubai experienced person with a good job in Dubai, I feel the only advantage is """CANADIAN PP"" .Not even education for our children. Now I am confident that Dubai education with all universities from world in knowldge village is far better than Canadian Education.

BUT I feel You may learn a lot from here. You will be a master in telling lies, self boasting and talk like GORAS and of course culture change...

If anybody want any help here pls msg me

Dubai Vasi

Can anybody suggest me on finding a job in Dubai ( IT Management) for a 8 year experienced Manager in Canada? I am also Canadian citizen.
Is $ worth going there?
What king of salary band should I look for?

Hi friends today I attended my interview at Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi.
The interview officer was very nice and took us to interview room for interview.
Generally interview went through very well. The office felt that he needs to check
with the university about my wife’s post graduation certificate genuinity.

He told me that once he receive the genuinity from university he will send the
Confirmation to London office and they will send the medical papers to me.
All together it will take for visa stamping another 6 months he told me.
He told me to pay ROLF fee if you like any time now. Also he told me that once
They issue medical papers, mean time they will conduct background checks also.

He told me that for to do all this process it will take at least 6 months. Generally in my case he checked all my educational certificates, marks sheets very detailed.

Then he checked my wife’s certificates, in the process he felt he want to check
my wife’s masters certificate genunity. Later he checked my work exp.certificates
one after one and asked me that if he checks with my present and previous employer
about me any problem i told no problem.

He told me that he will try to send as soon as possible the request to the university about the certificate guninity and once he receives the response from university he will send the comments to London office. Over all entire interview went very well for 20 mints.

hope i will pass through interview soon..

Congratulation Cmanyam

Its great that you have posted your interview experience. By the way, did visa officer asked anything about Settlement funds? Even though they have given 6 months it may be shorter. Its all depends upon how quickly your university response to CHC request.

Do not take long vacation during this 6 months time either you or your spouse. CHC may ask fresh PCC again during this time and if your spouse is in India, it will be difficult to get pcc from UAE. I experienced this.
