After browsing Canadian desi ,I am going through mental prepartion to face the reality there. i will not carry anything except essential items. So far i have planed to work in UAE till Nov. end and spend 20 to 25 days in India then go to Canada.
Hi Everybody,
I had completed about 80 days in canada now. But the fact is that I love dubai still bec of its environment, jobs, nice food, culture , facilities..etc.
On the job search front, If you were in middle east for a min 3yrs and have a good pay (approx 4000/ after your rent). Then you may be frustrated here intially. But only thing I found is that, You don't need your passport/sponsor for anything. Except that evry thing in dubai is just fabulous.
But here there are enough jobs if you are willing to do the labour jobs on the otherhand. You may not get any jobs in your field if you are qualified as in middle east.
If any body migrating to canada in Toronto needs any help, please msg me
Thanks & Regards,
Dubaivasi

Hi to all...
Hi all or Salaam Alikum Desi Emirites (have to distinguish ourselves from Emirati
I had sent my application to CHC, London in the last week of July, but haven't received my AOR so far
(or am i getting too eager here
).
I'm sure all of us (or at least most of us) have read various sob/horror stories on CD.
But after going thru a lot of them, my wife and I reached the following conclusion:
a) Desi coming from MatraBhoomi is generally a bit tight on cash. By our estimates it may cost a desi up to 3 to 3.5 Lacs to land in Canada (apart from the funds needed to settle). By Indian standards, this is quite an amount (again assuming we all are discussing 'skilled' immigrants here). Hence, on landing in the dream country, the resources deplete fast and panic strikes in (against my advice.... DON’T PANIC
).
b) Generally, I believe most desi do not have the international experience. Though s/w professionals do make trips abroad for projects, but are not exposed to international/western way of life to the extent as we get here.
c) With each expense, people convert to Rs. and grumble.
However, I believe, being in Gulf/ UAE gives us a better chance esp. in monetary terms.
What is the opinion of the crowd from ME on this??
With all this in the background (my rumbling), what I would like to ask Emirites here is:
a) What prompted them to move for Canada? I know the kind of treatment given out here is deplorable, but with possible doom impending in Canada (based on info primarily from CD) is it a wise decision??
b) Did anyone here consider Australia as an option? On what basis did they rule it out as the next chapter in their life? Just because it is down under??
I am in a big dilemma between immigration to Canada and Australia. Have just posted to the jobs section with my qualifications, in order to understand if I have any chances in Canada.

c) Would like the opinion of Emirite CD members, who have been there, done that, i.e. are in Canada now, on should one risk all that is here and move? How different is the lifestyle there ... from dune bashing in 46 deg Celsius/80 % humidity to skiing -10 degree Celsius
