You will not find a cheaper accomodation in the GTA, cheaper than the ones advertised in CD forum. Take my word for it. Guest houses are very costly.
The other possibilities are to stay in a Gurudhuwara (free) or some volunteer's houses (may be some minimal charge).
You can find a single bed apartment in a day or 2 after coming to Canada, if someone helps you. Otherwise, it may take up to a week for you to grasp the dynamics of the city and then some more days for you to find a good aprtment.
Remember , this is not India and you may lose a lot of money thinking to save moeny.
My advice : Go through the charcha to find how people have survived and try to do that yourself. If you have someone to help you from this forum personally, it would be the best. I am wiiling to help you, if needed.

My 2 cents - take all the suggestions into consideration BUT you be your own judge. Fixing up something before coming here means you're going to stay at a place for almost a year (assuming that it's a 1 year lease), without even checking it out - the apt. as well as the surroundings. Just keep that in mind.

Raja,
Toronto is not like Kuwait. Every facility is near everywhere. The only thing will be that you will pay $10 extra to go there (i belive they arrange transportation). Unless you decide to settle / or assume that you will get a job near mississauga it does not matter if you will stay there.
Some client pay settlement agencies offer separate washrooms just for your/ your family use. And washrooms here are not like Kuwait's public washrooms. they are clean and are cleaned regularly and only European Water closet is used here (No Bombay WC).
Check in CD classified for settlement agencies that cater to your need and budget.
