Do stay there. What future are you talking about your kids here.
Without a good job and working as labor class you will only bring misery to your children and spoil their future here. Their college and school expenses are high and you would find it difficult to give any future to them.
Here kids are spoilt and skills vey poor. Quality of education very poor here.
If you kids are smart they will do well there and get higher education in US in future.
At age 40 it is a disaster to come to this country. After having come here you shouldnt even be posting this question here as you would have seen the reality here.
This country is a disaster waiting to happen shortly
shreedharan,
can i know ,since how long u r there in canada and what
job u r doing there. u seems so bitter about canada.
some time i think we,ourselves are also responsible for
not getting jobs in canada. immediately after reaching
there we just start looking for jobs matching our
local qualifications and experience and without updating
our education and professional skills.
but it is also true that at the middle of age it is
very difficult to start study. after all one have to take
care of family needs.
it is also true that there we dont want to spend a single
penny on updationg our skills. we scared to touch our
indian funds.
Maybe you should plan a Three Year "Working Holiday" in Canada, i.e Come and work for Three years (any Job) just to pay your expenses and keep looking for a job in your field. If after three years you want to go back to India, you can atleast get your Citizenship. That way your kids can benefit from it as well.

Microsoft - Which end of the stick do you want today?
I support the response of Desi Tiger 110 percent. Infact I'm doing exactly the same. I've completed 21 months and another 15 to go for applying for my citizenship.
Two ways your advancement is stopped here, is either you are told that you are over qualified or do not have Canadian Experience.
Without sounding too bitter, the value of the Diamond can be truely appraised by a good Gemologist. That is the way I look at, if Canada cannot recognize my education/experience/potential it is Canada's failure and not mine. I do not give two hoots to the same. I count my 40 hours every week and pay my bills. I have a huge Calendar where I to mark off my balance time I need to spend in this high security prison.
As Ottawa Nerd keeps mentioning in many of his posts, the one of things he likes of Canada is its passport. Your opportunities open up immensely in the rest of the world, eventhough Canada is losing billions of dollars of potential earnings, by under utilization of qualified professionals.
Cheer up, and take this 36 month working holiday, and rake the moolah later.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
whether to move canada or not
