Initiating this thread to find out anyone’s parent have received any follow-up after medical interview done.


2003 Jan-June all family class applicant for parent immigration have received their medical in last 3-4 months.

Let’s discuss or please update if you have received any follow up after medical interview.

Example: CIC have asked to pay for landing fees.. after that what?

Example: CIC have asked questions..1.

In my case, after my parent and brother have finished their medical they have asked to submit all original papers of my brother’s study which includes original of mark sheet etc.

By any chance, do you guys know what will be the next step?

Received Medicals in the first week of June.

Received additional forms a day after received medicals.

Completed Medicals in second week of June.

Received request to pay ROPRF in Second week of July from CPC Mississagua.

Paid fees to CPC Mississauga and Send additional forms to CIC New Delhi in Second week of July.

Received Confirmation for the ROPRF from CPC Mississauga in first week of August.

Now Waiting. Hopeful to receive request for paasport soon.

My friend received the request for Medicals and Passport at the same time in last week of May.

Complete medicals and send passport approximately first week of June.

Received to Pay ROPRF from CPC Mississauga in first week of June.

Paid ROPRF toCPC Mississauga in first week of June.

Received request to send one missing marksheet for my friends brother who is dependant applicant in approximately frist week of June.

Send the marksheet in approximately second week of June.

Now Waiting.................

approved to sponsor dec 02
sent forms to chc delhi jan 03
ack from delhi nov 03
request for documents mar 05
request for medicals may 05
request for passports jul 05
visa received jul 05
landed aug 05

delhi has sped up the processing of parents/grandparents quite substantially... people who applied to cpc-m in the nov 02 timeframe are expected to have processing completed by nov 05... some sooner than others depending on what extra documents are required... if the ropr fee has already been paid when the medical request is received, it will shave off 2-3 months from the processing time...

June 2003 - Sent file to Mississauga
Sept 2004 - Delhi started processing file
End of May 2005 - Medicals and passport request
August 22nd, 2005 - Received passport back with stamped visa.

This was HUGE relief! Early this year, I was under the impresison that its going to take another 3 years for my parents to get the visa. Something happened around April time (www.sponseryourparents.org?) and Delhi has cleared a huge backlog recently. A lot of my friends whose parents file were being processed got the medical requests.

So hang in there if you're waiting, it should not take that long now if the medicals are done.
