If the file is being handled by your lawyer....I guess CHC N Delhi would have sent the req to your lawyer not your parents in India....you also did mention that they sent the req on Oct/19....is the req sent to your parents or your lawyer ?.....just call your lawyer again and let them know that the time is of essence and he/she need to do something soon....we haven't hears anything so far since mailing the passports to CHC N Delhi...I'll keep you infmd....

you are right.

I did call to my lawyer..and she told me she will absoulty wait for the letter been sent to lawyer. She told me wait atleast for month for letter to reach here.. funny ha..

I will call her tomorrow again, and keep u posted.

Some more good news !!!!!!

Today I checked on e-cas....and as desi#1 posted....my parents appl status changed to "Decision Made"....with following remarks,

"Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on -(MY FATHER'S NAME)- application. The office will contact -(MY FATHER'S NAME)- concerning this decision"

So I guess my parents should recv their passports within couple of weeks. I will update the info as it happens. We are also waiting for the same for my mom-in-law's case....hopefully that will work out soon as well....

woo-hoo !!!!!!

My parents recd their passports back with visa stamp on Nov/16/2005....we are so happy....

just wanted to let others know abt the time line....

How long does it take to received the passport back, once you sent to new dehli..

I believe my parents mailed their passports on 24th Oct to CHC N Delhi....however...my mom-in-law mailed on Oct 21st...and nothing happened in her case so far....??????????????

So I don't think there is a fix timeline....you just have to wait and hope for the best...
