Assalam-O-Alaikum Masood,
1) I applied for my mom's Canadian citizenship last year. Now recently they have sent me a letter asking to proof that my mom is living here in Canada.
She is 60 years old.I dont have anything to prove except her health card, PR card, all copies including blank pages of passport (they specifically have asked for it). She hardly visited doctor here (she had no complains or any serious thing Alhamdolillah). She is living with me. I dont have her name in my lease. She doesnt have a driving license. All she has is passport, health card and PR card.
Also they have sent me a form that I have to fill out and send it with the proof and blank pages of passport.
How can I provide a proof that she is living here?
2) Can an applicant stay outside canada (india) more than 6 months after applying for citizenship?
Thank you
Allah Hafiz
How about passport? Passport can tell everything...if she have stayed in india for long enough.. they can count very easily.
One simple rule is when you apply for citizenship you should be completed 1050 days in canada outof certain years..please check the immigration web site.
If she was in canada for those days.. just send them passport zerox.
Provide passport. If she received any letters at home, provide those too. Write a letter explaining everything just like you did to me.
After she applies for citizenship, she can stay out for more than 6 months. The main thing is meeting the 3-year requirement at time of application.
