Is there anyone on this forum interested in or fascinated by the literature of the Bengali Renaissance period, particularly in the life of Michael Madhusudan Dutt ( 1824- 73). He was the earliest and the greatest product of western influence of the 19th century India. He was fixated on going to England but found himself dissatisfied and lonely when he reached his dream land and then wanted to go back to India( please correct me if I am wrong). On his journey to England he wrote :

\"I sigh for Albion's distant shore,
its villages green, its mountains high,
Tho' friends, relations I have none
In that fair clime, yet oh! I sigh
To cross the vast Atlantic wave
For glory or a nameless grave.\"

Unfortunately I coudn't find any book by him or about him in the local libraries. Wonder if anyone on this forum knows about his artisry or poetry.
