Can any one tell me how much time New Delhi Embassy takes for stamping visa on passports after they receive Medical results and passport. I mean for Indipendent skilled category.

2 - 6 months..

You will receive passports with visa stamped before your medical expiray date

Does that mean it can take up to one year? Becoz the passport was sent within a week of medicals.

Normally 2 months, but can stretch like a rubber band.

On the same issue, I need some advice. I had applied from new delhi in 2001 and subsequently moved to middle east due to job change.

I did my medical in Jul-06 (While I was on annual vacation in India) and rejioned my duties after completion of vacation.

I am to submit my (and family) passports to them, but not sure how to handle this. It is not legal to send passports out of one country to another. I dont know how much time CHC, Delhi takes if we go back to India just for passport stampings. Can they do within 2-3 working days (assuming all ohter issues are over) ?

Could I request them to transfer my file to a CHC responsible for my region?
