I am new to Canada and want to find job.Please advise where and how can I find job

I have gone through all the articles and have applied for jobs,but no one responds.

I am not sure how to search job through Recruiters or through Internet Job Boards.

At least I should start on some survival jobs

Welcome to Canada!!

There are numerous CD members from different background (Architects, Financials, IT, Vets, Health, Accountants, etc.., etc.,) visit this forum, if they have additional details from you related to your functional background and experience, it would be helpful for them to post some ideas and suggestions.

1. Your field.
2. Your experience (including international).
3. Any additional skills you have such as a Mechanical Engg but good in Finance.

Lastly, do not get disheartened and discouraged by the environment. Let it go for sometime, you will come to know a lot and settle...

Thanks so much for your immediate reply and highly appreciate all your help. Gives me a lot of encouragement.

I am an Engineer with 18 years in IT as Software Analyst and has worked in India as well as United States.

I have posted my resume on all the websites.Requirements match my profile but still no replies from any one.All day and night I keep on applying for jobs and no replies from them.

Please advise me what kind of survival jobs should I take till I get good job.

A good amount IT people I've met are in testing. While I had never been directly involved in testing , my gut feelings says there are good opportunities in testing (considering the heavy reliance on off-the shelf products, customizing them and then outsourcing the engineering part ofcourse).

Cheerup man, you may end up with a contract paying above 50+ an hour against a full time job. When recruiter calls, pitch in this option too.. banks seem to have a whopping size of QA teams.

Keep your references in US up to date and keep responding the jobs in monster.ca and workopolis.com. You got to know that, things work bit slow in Canada (be it is a private sector) unlike US. Stay put and apply consistently.

Also, try craigslist.org also. I often see awful lot of testing jobs posted there. Ensure that you prepare checklist of buzz words to juggle around the interview, coz, I feel it works out well here..

While I don't know about your financial situation, if you're not with a family, get yourself flanked in some Paying guest accommodation around toronto downtown (you could survive with a single TTC pass) or even Etobicoke for that matter, this should save some bucks..
