Hello,

I am going to India first time after my Canadian Citizenship, I am also holding dual citizenship for India ( OCI card ).

Do I still need to carry Indian Passport with me for saftey any experience ?

Carrying an Indian passport (if valid) after acquiring the cdn citizenship could be a disaster - NOT a safety.

And if you are having OCI, what safety do you need or why do you think you need safety?

I heared that they might ask India Passport at the Mumbai Airport, if you still have OCI card. So that saftey to avoid any problem at the Airport.

So, I asked any one visiting with OCI card and any experiences

You will not have any problems if you have cdn ppt and the OCI card. I have not travelled with my OCI card yet, but know many people who have travelled with the PIO card when it was new. No one was asked for the indian passport.

I just came back from India with cdn passport and PIO card. No problem at all and nobody asked me about the Indian Passport even though it was my first time to India with cdn passport .

Hey guys..i wil be canadian citizen in few months...i want a know wat is pio and oci? if i have those cards, do i still need to get visa on my canadian passport??

HAPPY 2004-------------u r right.I did read an article where it was said --"when u go for first time --they ask for cancelled passport" How long did it take for you to get OCI card ?
