I was asked to amend my son's name in the passport which was done and a copy couriered to the Paris office. What is the next letter I need to wait for? In the earlier mail asking me to amend the name, it was written that the same was needed for issue of PNR cards. Will I be asked to submit original passports and if so, how long will they take to stamp the visa and return it to me? I will be very grateful to anyone throwing light on the above issue as I need to plan a few things well in advance to avoid a last minute hurry. By the by, I took my medicals on the 1st Aug, 2003
Happy new year and seasons greeting to everyone

It's difficult to comment without knowwing your timeline & status of your application.
In your case, at least it means that an officer is working on your file & it's moving along... You may get your visa(s) a few months before August 2004.

I have an interview waiver after which I submitted fresh police clearance certificates from UAE police. Subsequent to this I was asked to submit the passport copies upon which I was asked to amend the name of my son in his passport to include the surname which is also abided with. My query is whether I will be asked to submit original passports for issue of PNR and other docs as their last letter mentioned that this amendment was required to issue the PNR cards
Thanks for ur very helpful advises

Yes, visas are now pasted in passports.
The embassy will need original passport to issue the visa for your son.
