Scene at school
Meanwhile, it was an entirely different scene at the school. The principal and the teachers vent their ire on the mediapersons who gathered to take the school’s version. Instead of clearing the air, the head of the institution rattled off the names of all VVIPs in the State and the Centre.
Will take action
He threatened to take action against the journalists.
“See what I will do... give me your pictures (photo identity cards),” he screamed.
Finally, the school authorities washed their hands off the tragic incident saying, “We are not at all responsible for whatever has happened.”

Bail granted in video sex assault case
Mar 08, 2007 02:26 PM

Staff Reporter
Two young Mississauga teens accused of participating in a sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl that was recorded on video have been placed under house arrest after receiving bail.
Two 18-year-old boys, also accused in what police alleged was a gang sexual attack of an unconscious girl, will learn later this afternoon whether they will also be released under strict bail conditions for their roles in the shocking case.
The parents of a 17-year-old boy were both overcome with emotion today when Justice of the Peace Keith Currie released their son into their custody under house arrest and $15,000 bail with no deposit.
Another 17-year-old boy was released into the custody of his parents yesterday and placed under house arrest with $3,500 bail with no deposit.
The reasons behind the court's decision to grant bail to the second youth today along with graphic details of the alleged sexual assault and other alleged offences remain under a strict publication ban.
The names of the two 17-year-olds are protected by Canada's youth laws, as is the identity of the victim.
Although both young teens were released from custody, the court imposed far greater restrictions in releasing the second youth today.
In addition to placing him under house arrest, the court imposed a curfew of between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. as well as banning him from using the Internet or any cellphones, pagers or electronic devices that can transmit information. He is also only allowed to have supervised access to computers for educational reasons.
Like the other young teen, he is also banned from attending Cawthra Park Secondary School , where he attended classes, and is prohibited from talking with any of the co-accused, the victim or 17 other students.
He must also abstain from taking any illegal drugs or consuming alcohol or possessing any weapons or firearms.
Bail hearings for Barton Reeder,18, and Philip Perry, 18, are to be held later this afternoon.
While evidence revealed in the courtroom is banned from publication, police previously revealed that the four accused are alleged to have taken turns sexually assaulting the female victim while she was passed out in the home of one of the accused in the early hours of Feb. 25.
Police also previously said that the sexual assault was recorded as video by cellphones and that the victim went to police after she discovered the video was being shown at her school.
The four accused have been charged with numerous sex-related offences including sexual assault with a weapon, gang sexual assault and manufacturing child pornography.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
