actually...canadian citizens re-entering Canada don't need to show a passport. It says so on the passport canada website: http://www.pptc.gc.ca/help/faq.aspx?lang=e
so right now I am thinking of:
- via bus/train to some US city like Buffalo, Rochester (any tips here ? which will be cheapest / fastest route ?)
- domestic flight to US destination
- return flight to Canada
There are two different things
1 When you travel to states by land, you can show them your citizenship card + drivers license and go in. Keep the indian passport handy and don't show it to them. In case if they ask you to go into the office at the border, then you will end up showing your indian passport. They may force you get new I-94 since you have valid B1/B2 visa in your indian passport. By law, they can't attach the I 94 to your indian passport because you are a canadian citizen. In that case, they will turn you back and there is a possibility they add your name to the skeptical list
2 Forget the flight originating from canada to states. They will turn you back in the airport itself.
By the way, Is it so hard to get canadian passport? Go for the express service with a itenerirary and you get passport in 2 days.
Good luck
