Hi
Are the ABS & EBD features really worth going in for in cars like Toyota?
What I mean is that is it a hyped thing that these car co's try to sell to customers, or is it really worth it, specially during winter months?
Can somebody narrate their experiences where they were saved from accidents because their car had ABS/EBD.
Thanx

ABS is the anti lock braking system. It is really good and worth the price you pay for it . You can google the exact technology that pumps the brake automatically at a pre-determined time to bring you to a stop without skidding rather than pumping the brake manually .

We will find a way or we will make one
Basically it calculates your deceleration rate and if found beyond the established limits. Brakes are taken away from manual operation and car computer starts operating the deceleration of car. This can be of great benefit during summers or light rain too. It can help your car from rolling off. Imagine a scenario where you apply your brakes at speed of 100 kph and try to steer off to avoid hitting something in front of you. It is possible that you may roll off the road. Now ABS would pump brakes for you where as you can steer away from the hitting object in small increments. It is helpful when you are within sensible speed limits.

If you will drive for more than 25-30km, atleast 5 days a week in Winter then you should go for ABS/EBD. If not then its ok..
