Hi, Just a quich question/advice, i am presently working in India and would be migrating to Canada in 2-3 Years(fingures crossed), i would like to do CPA before i land in canada as my Commerce degree (graduation) wont help me much there.
So my query is - is it worth to do just a certificate CPA and not to go for Licence, before i migrate. Will my graduation and CPA certificate and my work experience in india on oracle and SAP will help me in fetching a decent job, so that i can survive there with my family - wife and 2 kids.
Or
Is there any other degree/course which i should go for before migrating to Canada- my prefernce is Accounting and Finance. How about my work experince will it pay me there.

Even i am Indian , from the accounts / finance field and have completed my CA. What i have learnt so far is there are 3 main courses recognised for accounts / finance field in Canada. They are CGA / CMA / CA. However, one can do these courses only after getting PR.
What i understand is that the canadian ppl dont give full credit for Indian CA Degree / Exp. Hence even i am thinking of doing CPA so that i can transfer the CPA credit to an equivalent degree like CGA / CA in canada.
Senior members in this forum can help us in a more better manner.

Yes it would be worth doing your CPA as you will get lot of exemptions in CGA.
ICAI (CA Institute) says that you will get the exemption but I do not trust them as when you go to them for evaluation they will say otherwise
In CMA, you will get the advanced standing.
This is present day scenario. Do not know what would be the scenario 2 -3 years from now.

I do not know where you are located in INDIA. There is a group that is currently helping NEW and Aspiring Indians who are about to make the move to Canada. I will provide you with a link to them. They are from the educational side of the Canadian Immigration there. They will provide you with a school in a location that you want to live in Canada and study and get equivalent qualification of your choice. They also help you in settling down in that location. They are trying to get Employers to join them in the near future.
If you are close to them, you can drop in or contact them over the phone and get a few good answers. That will be a good start. So, take a step in that direction and see where you reach. It is at: 'ciip.acca.ca'

I just finished my grade 12th in canada. I am interested in accounting and become CA here so i want to know more about my choosing career, already i get admission in accounting course and international business so which field am i go ? my accounting course is 3 yrs and what i have to do after 3 yrs do i have to pass CGA or CA exam or what. I am confused.
Can somebody help me for more information can i go in accounting field or take another course ?
