I have a I-94 for B2 which is valid for another 5 months. If I travel to India, do I have to surrender it before leaving for India?

Will the airlines agent take the I-94 at the airport when I leave for India? Or Do I have to surrender it before that?

Sometimes the airline agents do take it, but I have personally come across situations when they dont. So it is better to be proactive there, unless of course you plan to return to the US before the I-94 expires.
