I have filed documents on May 4th, 08 for canadian immigration,but have not heard anything after that from the embassy. Please can anyone tell me what could be the reasons. Thanks.

Please go over the copy of the application that you ave retained for your files. Do you see if everything is filled in properly and there are no blank spaces. If so, then wait for another month. You should hear from them soon with a file number.

It may take much longer time now to get the file number due to changing Immigration Process after Feb 27, 2008
It may take up to 3 months also.
I had to wait for these many days. But that was in 2003.

The least you can do is be patient. You will have to 'learn to wait' - its going to take ATLEAST 48~60 months for the process to complete - you are still on the first stage.
Just forget about it for sometime and concentrate on your current 'occupation' - that will help you overcome the anxiety.

Since I am appliying from the US it would take around 30 mon. once I get the file no. as per the information I have.
Sorry if I am diverting from the initial discussion, I wanted to know how are the opportunities in the Mainframe Technology in Canada. Also are there ample scope in the field of accounting if one has a CA from Canada or CPA (USA).
