First landing finances

Hi,
I will be coming to Canada for good and am making my first landing in Vancouver.I was just wondering
What is the best way to carry my finances,Cash or Draft?
Will a demand draft from a foreign exchange do or do I need to get one from a bank?
Is there a limit to the money I can carry and is it taxable?
I will be travelling with my wife and daughter, so I need some help quick!!

Please do not carry that much cash but do keep some because you will need it when you arrive. I will say bring one month expenses in cash if you are not using a foreign credit card
