If that be the case:
It might be a good idea to even carry your marriage certificate which you might have submitted at the time of applying for immigration. You never know - the custom/immigration officer at the counter might ask for this proof since you will be filling up only one custom form for the whole family and you might have to prove that you are one family.
In addition, whether you rent or own a house, keep the rental agreement or ownership documents along with a utility bill to prove that you actually live at the place you have mentioned on your form.

The way things are going in Canada, we might be prudent to also carry the results of our DNA tests. Even then the govt may refuse to believe that you are Canadian as these tests are 99.9% accurate, so there is a 0.1% chance that you are not who you claim to be
Make sure that safeguard your wallet sized certificate of citizenship at ALL times. If you lose your passport and need to apply for a replacement passport abroad, you will need to prove your citizenship by producing the "original" wallet sized certificate. It is also a good idea to carry your child's birth certificate (if the child was born here) as child's proof of citizenship is their birth certificate. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks again everybody for your tips.
chandresh, sorry for me being dumb ; No offence meant but I couldn't make out from your reply if you really mean that or if you are just trying to suggest me that I being overly cautious. Thanks.
