I do have a lot of friends of varied ethnicities. They are eons apart in terms of tolerance and being respectful of other ethnicities. I have Indian acquiantences who are open minded as well. My point was with the majority of them I have met....and stayed away from if I may add.

I do not think in India, you get attacked because of your skin colour. And just because Indians are supposedly racist means they should be tolerant of the indifference shown to them.

I do agree that this does not necessarily mean that we should tolerate any such treatment ourselves but there is something to be said about losing one's credence while making a case against a charge that one has been tried for many times before.
So, it means according to you 'Russell Peters' is a biggest racist ever born, right? Having fun like what you mentioned and attacking others physically are two distinct traits. Also, two wrongs can never make right. As others pointed out, as long as I am not attacking anyone physically or verbally, they don't have ANY right to attack me based on my skin color.
come on guys .. I think we have to accept that Indians are racist. I have seen how black people are treated in India and the only thing that stops people from acting physically is either they are weak or scared of getting caught.
I am sure if an African was to marry some Indian in India it wouldn't be long before he is beaten up.
Also there is so much violence in India based on caste or creed. Luckily we are all brown in India hence you can't call it racism, but it boils down to the same thing. Darker people are treated worse in India. Physical violence is just a step away if people think they can do it and get away with it.
I remember how poorly black students are treated and often mis-treated by the Indian police. But then at least the Indian police mistreat everyone irrespective of skin colour 
and will someone change the topic from "attract" to "Attack" !! :P
In Africa, Indians have been known to be harrased due to race also. Some have even been killed there.
Nobody is saying that their is NO racism in India.
Racism is everywhere in the world - until all the races have intermarried.

Its way more different than you are talking, I haven't seen that black ppl treated bad in india, infact I have seen people saying that south indian people are smart and more educated and they have great respect.

Agree that in India 'Fair is lovely' and Indian people are racist as well. Fair enough. So, is this a suffice reason for a few Australians to beat them up everyday on every nook and corner? Again, two wrongs can never make it right.
As for the African people in India, on the contrary I have experienced that Indian people are scared to even talk to an African guy. Might be a number of reasons - one being their physique. By the way, I never heard of any African beaten up in Delhi. There are a lot of African students studying in Delhi University and JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru Univ.)
