Hi,
Does any one know about reqirements to keep PR Status in Canada?
My Situation is like this...
I am away from Canda from Jan 2000 till today. I had Returning Resident Permit from April 2000 to April 2002 & June 2002 to 30th June 2003. I applied for PR card & I got it. I read on CIC website that to fulfill residency status I have to be in canada Physically for 2 Years out of 5 Years period.
Also I read on somewhere that time spent outside of canada under RRP should consider like if you are in canada. Is this Correct?
From this assumption My PR Status is good upt to June 2006?....
Thanks
The new ruling as regards to your question is that all PR card holders have to be present in Canada 730 days within a 5 year period. In other words you can stay away for 3 years , but must be present back in Canada for the the next 2 years.
I hope this answers your question dude.
Keep kool
zola
Thanks for your reply.
But my main question is that the Period of RRP counts towards the 730 days or not?
Thanks Once again
