I was called for PEO interview and with the bad advise from some 'friends' I was unprepared.

They asked to go for technical exams. After working for over 20 years (graduated in 1986), it is almost impossible to read the fundamentals of engineering books now and go for exams.

Is there another avenue? another interview? or anything else?

As someone has mentioned designation PEng makes a lot of difference. Whatever your experience and competencies are, without P.Eng, it is of no use.

Can someone please adv.

That must have been a really bad advice. Normally, if you take time to prepare your experience resume and show two projects that you worked on, and prepare for the technical aspects of the project, you should be fine.

However, if you are a project manager, and if they start asking you about project management, and if you are not prepared, yes you might find it hard to face the panel

If you have a Bachelors degree from a recognised university in India, you are asked to clear 4 exams IIRC. And if you get certain score in first two, next two exams are waived

I believe you can appeal the process, of reapply and go through the whole process again. I know somebody who failed first time but went through next time. I do not know what steps he followed

If you are a mechanical or civil engineer with consulting experience, yes, it makes a big difference. Also, P.Eng. is kind of a symbol of quality, since an engineer knows that if you screwup, you lose our license.

Also, it makes a difference when it comes to salary.

You can close you existing file.

Reapply with new file and you will go thru' same process as now and will be called for interview.

Talk to PEO, they will guide you.

Can any one suggest an 'easy' Master degree course in electrical engineering (power engineering) acceptable to PEO in Ontario?

Thanks

Even though if you enroll for a master degree in power engineering from here since you have already opened your file with PEO they might reference your old file number and still may call you for an interview process after you finish your masters degree. I think.
But on the other hand after finishing your masters degree you would be enriched by fresh book knowledge so passing an interview shouldn't be a problem.

I am a civil engineer post graduate with 25 years experience (sorry, this sounds like a job application!). I was always facinated by electrical engineering and wish to persue it now. Is there any online course available, not job oriented, but having the components of a normal course in electrical engineeing.
