I have laptop Dell Inspiron 6000 bought in 2005. its key pad(KeyBoard) is faulty some charecters are not working. i`d like to buy the new/used key pad. checked with major electronic shops couldn`t find it. Any one has idea please share.

Normally there are some food particles which get stuck or moisture on the key contacts on the membrane, that’s the reason you get few keys working and few not. Try cleaning it or if you can follow the instruction of the service manual you can open it up and service the Laptop yourself. Also you can get it serviced on any of the Local Systems repair shop.

As rajcanada said EBay is a good option, where you can buy. But if you are looking for the exact spare part you can contact Dell Directly, depending on the age of the Laptop.

For cleaning it yourself you can get hold of a compressed air can and do it.
