One of the problems I see here is that employers not taking up immigrants for top jobs. One of the main reasons they even reject resumes is with the opinion of being over qualified for a job. In India recruitment and HR is often by MBA graduates or MBA with experience. Here college pass outs or even less do the same job. I am not sure whether being overqualified is the right issue or baby boomers not allowing folks to get in their field of line is the actual issue. This is a comment I heard from a person in Halifax. Has anyone else heard about it and how is it affecting the job market for experienced immigrants into Canada. What I understand by the term baby boomers is the local people who were born in the 1940s or 50s who are trying to push their families and not allowing outside folks to get into the jobs. Sort of what we see in government jobs in india and some political parties. Most of the immigrants are trying to re-skill themselves into IT and getting into the jobs.
