Lana makes sense.......
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible.
But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.
I totally agree with Lana, there is no harm in admitting what is wrong. There are certain things great about Canada & India. Everyone quotes here by their own experience. We don't have defend them or get offended by them either.
Also just to add - one of my friend has extensive experience in teaching from India, she did everything needed to be done here to be a teacher. She took language proficiency test IELTS & TOEFL. the score which is expected from TOEFL is so unrealistic that she was told by one of the TOEFL organizers that nobody till today, from that particular centre was able to obtain that kind of score. Only 0.3% people get that score.

I was talking bout my experience, so might ur experience is different from me. and TK is right in saying his point with the example of architectures. but they are in the labor jobs TK. and I was talking of white collar jobs, so I guess if u want to be architecure engg, then u might have to do it here. unless u have done it from a renowned univ in any part of world. or ur luck is with u.....
anyway it is all personal opinion and I hope no one will start using foul languages over here, like before. as I can smell that this thread is going to same old stories.
Whatever i said, you donot have to take personally. I am narrating the truth the way I faced it. I donot hate Canada or India. I love both the countries. There are certain things that are good in India and there are certain things that are good in Canada. There is nothing wrong in admitting what is wrong. That is the first step for improving. Again, these are my experiences and my opinion. Somebody else's could be different based on their experience. After all, isn't this the place for opinions, experiences and help.

1) Qualified people who come on family sponsored green cards to the US:You can be the most qualified doc, professor, engineer in you home country but in the US too, you can still end up working odd jobs or may never hold a position that you were in for the rest of your life because of lack of US qualifications or certifications.
2) Its just that there are more foreign trained qualified people in Canada, so you might see more of them doing odd jobs in Canada. If the US had a similar immigration system Iam sure you would have seen the same in the US.
3) Age: Yes, you are not supposed to discriminate people for jobs because of age but they do. I have a good example in the US where a fellow graduate student a senior person couldnt get even a student job for a long time because of his age (close to 40). Though they never said it, but that is a fact.
Some supervisors find it hard to delegate work to qualified (over qualified) and senior people.
