Nice and informative. I am always in favor of seat belts. Immediately after getting in the car, my first reaction is hand going for seat belt. It is safe, it is must.

Only case when it (wearing seat belt) may proves rather fatal is; when accident involves vehicle falling in water body. There had been instances (very few and as per Indian press) when the person(s) in drowning vehicle could not open the seat belt and could do nothing to save being tied.
