Hi All,

Hope everyone are doing well…!!!

I have completed Master of Computer Applications (MCA) including 3 years of relevant IT experience. I have the plan to study for 1 year PG program in GBC on Jan’2011. I heard about that there have been major changes in immigration rules in Canada with effective from June 26th 2010. So that if we are studying or working in Canada for 1 year doesn’t make eligible to apply for PR.

So I have few clarifications as follows,
1) Will I eligible to apply for PR after completion of the 1 Year PG course?
2) If not, are there any possibilities to get Post Graduate work visa for 1 year?
3) Is there any possibilities get temporary work visa for 2 to 3 years?

Thanks a lot for your support and guidance.

With Regards
RPSAK

Are you from one of the Universities mentioned in the list? If so, contact them and get some direction from them. They will guide you to a location close to you to drop in and get all of the details.

Alternately, drop in at one of the Immigrant Help Centers. There they will tell you what is the correct procedure and will help you fill in the required forms and pay the required fees too and get yourself established here as a PR in Canada in due course.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

For Permanent Resident in Canada you can visit http://www.cic.gc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK for latest information. As you coming on student visa for one year you can focus on study and after completing you can get some marks for permanent residency.

As for IT student India has better scope for work then Canada, after gaining experience in relevent field you can get good jobs in US or Canada. When you student here , you have to find employer in IT who can give you job and then you can be granted working visa . But now find a IT employer may be little bit difficult.

You have Master's degree and work experience, apply for permenent resident :

A121.0211Engineering ManagersA122.0213Computer and Information Systems ManagersA123.0212Architecture and Science Managers

and there is scope for PR , now it is not taking long for decision, when you here as PR you can study as long as you want and you will be qualified for study loan from government. For foreign student fees is double and they have to apply for PR whenever they want to be permanent here.

Good Luck
