Do we have figures to quote as to people who died in 9/11 were from which religion. I think Mulsims, Hindus, Jews, Christian, Sikhs etc all died there. Just because the offenders were muslims we should not take a way the right of muslims to build mosque there or anywhere. Few muslim killing someone does not mean we kill all muslim.
Few sikh people shot down AI flight 20 years back, did Canada stopped Sikhs from constructing Gurudwaras in Canada.
Hindus killed 1000's of sikhs all over in India in 1982 , did sikhs stopped Hindus to construct Temples in Punjab.
Modi and company killed 1000's of muslims in Gujrat, did any where in any country people stopped Hindus from constructing a temple.
Hindus in Orissa killed 1000's of christians , did any christian dominating country stopped them from constructing a temple in their country.
Those people who are going to construct mosque have not killed people in WTC. They are going to make a place of worship and not open a training centre of weapon. If muslim eating places can open near ground zero or muslims can live and work near ground zero , so why a mosque cant be built over there. They are not opening a mosque to glorify killers of 9/11.
Construction of Mosque near Ground Zero should not have been a big issue. Let them construct. They are going to pray there only.

1000's of Muslims never died in Gujarat. There were riots and several people died from both hindu and Muslim communities
In Orissa, there we a few isolated incidents and perpetrators were caught by police. Again there were never 1000s of Christian died
I think may be you are talking about to Pakistan where lot of minorities are persecuted

The issue that most of the people have is that the terrorist that were involved in attack were Muslims. So constructing a mosque near the place of attack somehow negates/downplays the seriousness of this attack.

Even after a bloody past, Indians - Hindus are most tolerant towards other culture - Muslims/Parsis/Christians. The best example is Bollywood which has been/is dominated by Muslim artists. And millions of Indians worship the Khans and Rehman.
