I have been using Linksys for many years now.
I find that they are becoming defective after about 6 years.
I recently replaced my second one.

Tomato, DD wrt, Open WRT are linux based router firmware that are INCREDIBLY amazing. They can provide fantastic capabilites to an inexpensive router. Check the web "polarcloud" for tomato or "ddwrt" for ddwrt. There are pages n pages on how to flash your router.

I use an Asus (WL 520) with tomato. suggest you check the supported models page for each of the firmware. I think ddwrt and openwrt support more models, though (IMO) tomamto is better.

hope this helps.
