hello,
thanks guys for ur responses, but i am just looking for step by step guide if someone can help me as i am sure due to the VOIP box i am going to have problems connecting the router, if i didnt had a VOIP box then I am sure as vimal was saying it would have been very much easier but due to the box i am having problems and with factory direct they dont have a refund policy once u buy it you cant return it so want to be very sure it will work before i get it so please help me.

I am using Rogers highspeed with DLink wireless router (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=316) You can find the install guide also there. This is what I did

1. Connect the Rogers model output to DLink port input port.
2. connect your laptop via ethernet cable to port 1
3. Follow the instructions - you need to connect to http://192.168.x.x in IE and go through the wizard. You can name your wireless network and put a password
-> Put a password always, or you will find some of your neigbours using your network pretty soon!!
4. At the end, the the router will restart and you should be all set.
5. You can unplug the ethernet cable and connect via wireless. It should work.

Primus modem, you can connect to the wireless router - Port 1 itself should be fine, unless u want to leave it free, in that case connect to Port 2.

Netgear - I would think it should be similar.
I have no experience with Primus modem. It may configure automatically and all you may have to do is reboot; but ensure that you configure it to the same subnet.

One biggest advantage of buying Linksys or D-Link ..
If you are unable to configure the modem you can always call their CSR and they will walk you through ..
Check with Primus if they have same services avlbl ..

I had a very good experience with D Link CSR recently as they not only guided me on a Sunday aftrnoon but also help me enable the security .
