Hi ,
I m wondering whether its time to bid home phone good bye in favor of these $20 - $25 unlimited province wide calling cellphone plans from chatr / public mobile ....
Whereas Chatr offers free incoming / outgoing calls plus 50 texts plus 25 c/m vm retrieving for $25 / mo , Public Mobile offers unlimited calling for $15 / month plus $5 for vm and you are good to go ..
Not sure if there are additional costs , but Bell Home Phone is being offered for $34.95/mo & Primus for 32.95/mo .
Even if one has to go for an $8 dry loop for internet , it is still cheaper & more convenient to keep a cell phone rather than a land line ....
Plus you can carry it with you any where even on holidays with Province wide calling free ......... and don't have to carry an additional phone
What say guys .............. is there some thing I am overlooking here ? Has anyone used these plans and how has the experience been ?

The only thing you'd need to check is the coverage.
You missed a good deal from WIND back during Christmas. For $20 / month unlimited Canada-wide calling, free incoming, free CAD/US texting + call waiting, call display, v/mail etc.

OMG .. that sounds unbelievable .....
I have also heard some coverage and reception concerns especially from some Wind Mobile users .
Chatr is on Rogers coverage so pretty go or so it appears , I wonder about Public Mobile as it is offering $15 / mo unlimited calling ...
Are there any Public Mobile users here who can share their experience ? Like wise how is the coverage and reception for Wind mobile ??

hi Fido,
i m using Wind Mobile from last 1year,dumped Rogers landline and saving lot of money..so far no problem with Wind coverage in GTA,u can check their coverage map to check if its meeting ur requirements.
with Rogers u go in contract, which is not the case with Wind, its contract free, also they hv many offers like zero tab phone..
My husband is using WIND for past few months. No issues so far.The bills are way lesser than what it used to be with rogers.

I am using Wind for more than a year now and things are going well. I am saving on cell phone bills.
I am using Bell internet and home phone services and the bills are ripping me off.
