Hi fellows.
We,ll be landing in September 2011 .
My husband will go back in a month to middle east and me and my 3 kids will be living in Canada.
I want to know which is a better place to live i.e thorncliff park in Toronto or Mississauga near Square 1 mall, where all the amenities, shopping centres, schools, clinic, public transport etc are nearby.
I am basically concern about kids schools.I,ve read Thorncliff school is quite congested .
Appreciate any suggestions.

Welcome to Canada.

Without going much into details, Square One area would be a better choice.
The quality of housing, schools etc.., are way better if you could move to one of the better condos there.

I would rather suggest a nicer area than the ones you mentioned.
Thorncliff is a big NOOOOooo...please try Yonge and Eglinton if you want to have easy access to this area

Thanks

Rida,
Thorncliffe is called either mini India or mini Pakistan. 75% people are hindi, Gujarati or urdu speaking. This is such a great helpful neighbourhood. Library, Schools, Mosque, madrasa, day care centre, park, mall, and grocery stores, halal meat shops, restaurants, doctors & dentists, pharmcies and saloons are just at walking distance. 24hrs TTC buses. In short, as a mom with 3 kids, you will be able to manage day to day life very easily even without a car and in husband's absent.
****Thorncliffe Park Public School is the largest elementary school in North America. Regardless of higher # of students per class, school is doing great and results are competetive.
Hope this info will help you to make decision.
