My name as per indian passport was
given name : kanika
surname : blank

and as per my record of landing , i have
given name : blank
surname : kanika
As per CIC, this is not mistake at their end as they mandatorily need surname .so when there is one name on passport, they put it in surname column.
I have been following up for my name correction on PR card for last 5 months but to no avail. I became PR in Dec 2010.
I want my name on PR card to be
Given name : Kanika
Family name : Ahuja ( which is my husband family name)
I have marriage certificate with me.
I would be very obliged if somebody could guide me the process for the same.

I have had the similar situation before landing...my son' s passport did not carry the surname..as I had applied through an agent they suggested me to get that corrected by adding the surname through Indian passport office...this prevented me from getting into the situation as yours...

Probably you might have to handle this as change of name request instead of correction.
