Hi
I recently got a birth certificate made for my baby that included parents name. (I got this made as i would be applying for a PIO card for my baby) The certificate shows the mother's maiden surname and not the surname after marriage. Is this an error on the part of vital statistics agency?
If i submit this certificate with the indian embassy will there be a problem as my indian passport shows my surname after marriage and not my maiden surname.
Thanks for replying

Thanks Freddie
The form of B.C vital stat is very different from ontario. The had asked for both mother's maiden surname as well as married surname. I will send the certificate back and see what they have to say.
Thanks for your help

You can submit it with a copy of your marriage certificate and a letter explaining the same. You shouldn't have any issue getting PIO.
