Hi CDs,
I am need of help to solve this surname issue.
is it okay if my wife and kids have a suname that is different from my surname.
to elaborate, my wife and kids did not have any surname on their passports.
so, we got the surnames added. now it so happened that in my wifes case the second name was my name so that was made the suname. whereas in my childrens' case they both had two word names AAA BBB . SO IN their case , the surname was made as BBB.
now i have my father's name as my surname . and my wife has my name as her surname. my kids have their second name as their surname.
confusing? hope not.
is this acceptable ?
or should we all have one common surname.
or is it ok if wife and kids have my name as their surnames and let my surname be unchanged.
would greatly appreciate all help.

As long as all related documents of each of you match up with whatever names you all have, it should be fine. Different last names is not an issue. I have the same situation and I have not faced any problems in all these years.

Even we are in a similar situation, but contrary to my initial thoughts, it doesn't create any issue at all - some curious eye brows at the best. I guess with mutliple marriage-divorse cycle in NA, members of the family having all different last names is just a normal situation...
Thanks, Dimple 2001. It's a great relief to hear that. we could be saving much needed time if this is so.
can u pl elaborate how was it similar in your case. and i hope you understood how exactly it is in my case.
thanks again
other cds' view would be appreciated.
regards.

Hi viggy,
thanks a lot for your inputs.
dont care abt the eyebrows later on.
there wont be any problems with the cic for getting the visa stamped on the passport, right ? because our medicals are over and should get anytime now.
others in a similar situation, pl share your views
