Hi,
My parents are planning to visit me in Edmonton (Visitor's Visa from India). Please let me know if they have to say at the port of entry (Toronto) that they are going to stay with me for 6 months?
(P.S. They want to stay with me for 6 month).
Please let me know as what are the requirements and things to say at the port of entry? How many months will they get a enrtry stamp?
Thank you
Alex
Quote:Yes, they should say that.

Quote:Impossible to say, but most likely they should get the full 6 months stay.

Answers should be true, logical and based on relevant details. Just make sure visa issued and expiry dates. I think, Technically, single entry visiting visa should have validity date. If visa expires within 3 months, they should have to say that they will stay 3 months. Later you can extend visa and make them stay longer will be an option but Return ticket should be showing return journey dates within visa's validity period at the POE.

Meeting people is easy. Having meaningful connections is the hard part.
Duration of visa has nothing to do with duration of stay.
You can arrive even when you have 1 day left on the visa but you could be allowed to stay for 6 months after that.
