"I understand that as a PR, i can apply for a visit visa for my new born baby and then take her with me to Canada. Then process her PR in Canada."
According to the immigration law the above is not correct.
I think that if you land in Canada without CHC knowing that you have a newly born baby......you must then go in a process of adoption in order to bring the baby to canada. This adoption process may take several years and during this whole process the baby won't be allowed in Canada.
Trust us! return your visa now + add your baby and wait for CHC re-issueing another visa for all of you before travelling to canada.

try and have the baby here, it will be so much easier for you. come to nova scotias that way you have medical the moment you land here. some provinces you need 3 months to get the health card, i know here in nova scotia it is immediate . so you wont need to pay for it. have the baby and go back for a whilke if you want.
<i have blessed with a baby girl on 15th Oct 2005.>
Congrats for the new addition to family.
Massoodji has already advised about documentation you have to complete.
You may like to start process fast.
Best of luck.

Immigration officials issued a removal order against one of Mr. Berger's clients, Riaz Khan, after he tried to sponsor his wife and child. The 36-year-old chemical engineer was single when he applied to immigrate to Canada in 1997. He married and had a child in Pakistan while waiting for his application to be processed.
He reported his change in status after arriving in Calgary in October, 2001. CIC is trying to deport him for misrepresentation. "It was an honest error. I didn't know I had to report my wife and child earlier," said Mr. Khan, who is appealing the removal order. "I am settled here. I have nothing back there."
