It has been a year since I have moved back to India for good. I got a contract job that gives me freedom. The work place is located nearby so that I don’t have to spend long time to commute. Since this is the longest time that I have been in India for the past two decades, I am understanding people / system much better. Some observations:
There is less action and more talk. No surprise here.
Thanks to mobile phones, communication is easy. Unfortunately people try to save 50 paise by giving me a missed call. SMSes gets ridiculous sometimes, but not bad. I am not a fan of it. I would rather call and talk it over.
I have to keep a tab on everything else they wont get done or take its own time.
Too much traffic, won’t go out during peak hours unless it’s absolutely required. No regard for human life. People are getting a bit selfish, IMO.
More uneducated or semi literate folks who are unemployable. Too much govt handouts. No wonder lot of janata are getting lazy.
Relatives have mixed reactions to see us back in India. Not interested in what they think. Some friends want me to invest in their “ventures” by calling me an “angel investor”. Again not interested to be “an angel” taking that route.
We are happy that we moved back. I know I made the right decision due to our priorities. Many thanks to the real estate boom in Canada. We made good of it. Learnt a lot in Canada due to the nature of the job.

Good feedback.
You have pretty much summed up life in Hyderabad !
Come to the smaller towns of India. Life is much more peaceful, cost of living is low and the air is good.
I was surprised to see very few beggers on the street.
Peace

My employer has not sent my T4. So I donot know how to go about it. (I fought with my employer for ill treating immigrants before I left and hence he is not replying to my e-mails)
Peace

KumarM: Congrats on your first anniversary of moving to India. Time really flies fast!
All of your below points are accurate. Many of my RTI(Returned to India) friends will agree with you.
They also mention that having spent time abroad, the 'foreign madness' is cured and they are able to look at things in a new perspective. They feel more at peace being among friends and family members.
Keep us in touch with all your experiences.
Rajagopal.
