For everyone whose parents sponsorship is close to coming through I would like to invite discussion on the following issues:

1. Medical Insurance - Are there companies in Ontario which provide supplementary coverage for the first three months?

2. Insurance - Are there plans which will cover funeral rites etc, Is it advisable to get such plans? What are the formalities to deal with death of a parent in this country?

3. Social Issues - Since parents may have limited mobility what are the alternatives to provide a good social life for them especially in winter months.


4. Are parents entitled to any benefit from the Canadian Govt? Are they eligible for OAS? What other facilities or organizations are available for them?
