This is what Shaheen has written on FB.
"With all respect, every day, thousands of people die, but still the world moves on. Just due to one politician died a natural death, everyone just goes bonkers. They should know, we are resilient by force, not by choice. When was the last time, did anyone showed some respect or even a two-minute silence for Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Azad, Sukhdev or any of the people because of whom we are free-living Indians? Respect is earned, given, and definitely not forced. Today, Mumbai shuts down due to fear, not due to respect."
It is true and nothing else.

"People like Thackeray are born and die daily, and one should not observe a 'bandh' for that"
This was the comment.
Congress party propoganda...I think provocative part of the statment was not " ...and one should not observe a 'bandh' for that" i.e. questionning the shutdown...the real provocative part while the followers are mourning was "'People like Thackeray are born and they die daily". No, people like Thackery never born and die daily. The people like Thackeray never born before and will not born in future. The shutdown observed, I think only minor percentage of people did that out of fear and majority stayed at home because of combination of a) to pay the respect b) to be with family for one day.
RIP Thackeray! Without you, by now, Mumbai would have been real "Clean Mumbai - Green Mumbai" you kept the presence of saffron and white in there.
Looks like none of you are mumbaikars .

Well said onThackeray..the girls are mature enough to understand what is moral and what is legal. It is legal to insult your father but immoral and it is moral but illegal for father to punish the child for the same.
You don't stand in the street when funeral procession of someone's closed one is going and comment with loudspeaker in hand.. what is the big deal no one attended funeral for x homeless...bla bla. Even five year old understand to keep mouth shut during mourning. And here we are talking about a person to whom even PM of India paid the respect on his death and opposition too stood united in doing the same. Not out of fear but out of sheer respect. The use of social media is very powerful and one needs to use it responsibly. One need to understand a fine line between freedom of speech and stupidty. Abhi Chita ki aag bhi nahi buzi thi and these gals were itching to open their mouth...what happened to them was wrong but one need to also appreciate the fact that it did not take ugly face of rioting.
If Bhagat Singh would have died today due to natural causes, the whole India would have kept the bandh to pay respect....
