What the girls said is somewhat insensitive because of the wording they used but it does raise the question if a political leader or celebrity dies, the whole city needs to shut down, a common man dies nobody asks. The treatment they got is a bit too harsh with arrest, their names and photographs published everywhere in media.

Delhi roads were shutdown recently for late Prime Minister IK Gujral's funeral. Now people are questioning if Delhi roads have to be shutdown for VIP movement. The whole controversy is contrived here. I am sure that these champions of free speech and free spirit would not even squeak if the religious identity of the dead and the “victim” were to be reversed. The breast beating guys would pee in their pants if they come face to face with an angry crowd..

Kangress idiots rule the state and semi-literate police would not have arrested the girls without permission of the higher ups. On the other hand, those who favour the arrest also miss the point as usual because they are equally stupid.

The appropriate response, in my opinion, was to flood the FB with very vile posts on FB about Katju and other champions of free speech. I am sure that Katju would have been pissed off.

I grew up in a Muslim neighbourhood. Whenever any muslim guy died and was being taken for burial in procession, the road would be closed for a long time till the procession passes. People of ALL the faiths were expected to respect the dead.

I think it is still not late for real enthusiastic people to take to twitter and FB and make some nasty comment about Katju moron’s parents if they are dead or his grand parents. Also Shiv-sena guys, instead of threatening liberal girl should have left leaflets about the girl’s deceased relatives detailing their achievements e.g. How many wives her grandfather had or any other scandal.

And then there is someone who is lecturing about generation gap and morality and culture. I am usually sceptical about these kind of lectures and moralizing because I know that till you really face the consequences PERSONALLY, you can copy/paste lot of s**t and champion a variety of ideals.

For me, it is always “common sense” which dictates my action.

I do not see any prospects of joker Katju and his ilks rushing to the defense of the "rationalist". These liberals are Janus faced scum who have double standards on all the issues. However, I must admit that they also represent overwhelming majority or else Obamas of the world would never get elected.
