Hello Friends,
Can anyone please suggest me as what is the maximum duration a Canadian citizen can stay out of Canada without returning back but still retains Canadian citizenship?
Thanks

Once a Canadian citizen, you can stay out of Canada for as long as you like, provided the country outside Canada accepts you to stay there. If you are thinking of India, PIO/OCI options are there for Indian origin people.
There might be a restriction for some children (say like those born after 1987 or 1992 or 1997 and the like).
Other CD's can help you in this.
I am in my 40's and may return to Canada once I am 70 or so.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
In 70's or so age group (I mean 30 years from now), the health care cost burden of Canada would have grown significant, that a return to Canada would not be worth it.
And in the same time frame India would have grown to be the largest size economy in the world, & health care facilities will also grow in quality & quantity.
So, stay put & enjoy the indian lifestyle (which now a lot of people in the west envy)
