Apparently they now courier the newly applied OCI booklet to your Canadian address. There is no need to get a sticker on your Canadian passport any more. The OCI booklet contains details of your Canadian passport.
Furthermore, in case of acquiring a new Canadian passport, if you still hold the old Canadian passport you need not reapply for a new booklet but carry the old passport along with you,
Hope my understanding is right.

BE HAPPY KEEP HAPPY
You can email to indian consulate and request to issue OCI card early . You can send them your travel ticket as a proof . I have very good experience with Vancouver consulate . My indian passport was due for renew and I have to travel to India in 2 weeks . My passport was issued from middle east so they have to get verification from issuing consulate . I sent email to consulate and one of officer called me back and took all the details and asked me to send some more documents by email and he followed it promptly and I got my passport in 10 days .
Just to add that as per vancouver consulate they are issuing OCI in 42 days . Not sure about eastern canada.

What should be entered in the place for Canada Citizenship Acquisition Method?
I migrated to Canada as a permanent resident in the Family Class Skilled Worker category.
I am confused between the choice of 'NATURALIZATION' and 'REGISTRATION'.
Kindly advice.

I applied for OCI renewal through BLS Surrey (postal application). Here is my timeline.
Delivered to Surrey BLS office: 16 Dec 2015
Application Acknowledgement at Consulate: 01 Mar 2016
Status: Under processing (as of 14 April 2016)
The 42 days timeline from acknowledgement to printing is a farce. When I applied for my OCI card in 2010, the whole process took less than 3 month from receipt of the application at VFS office to delivery of the card and this is just a renewal.
Modi's "less government more governance" in action. On the other hand the Canadian passport took just under 10 days to renew.
