Hello,

I became a Canadian citizen recently and now want to begin the process of sponsoring my parents residency / citizenship.

My question regarding this is, is there a benefit to hiring a law firm / specialist to assist with the paperwork / application? If so, are there reputable firms / consultants in the Toronto area that people recommend.

Any help in this matter is appreciated. Thank you.

Few years ago, people sponsored their Parents and Grand Parents et all and it took about an year. Then entered the Harper Government and the delays generated entered into many years of pending papers and repeat submissions to go with it, as the delays were too long.

With the Liberals at the helm and being really sensitive to this issue and helping Immigrants to re-unite with their families and making it their priority, I feel that you should not waste much time to do the same and accomplishing it with in a span of one year.

So, basing this as a fact and preparing all by yourself as fast as you can and if you feel that you are strapped for time and do not have the resources at your finger tips, you can do what it calls for and do it properly. (But the professionals only fill in the form with the materials you provide)

Most of the time the group on the CD always chipped in with their help and with their experience in the subject matter and got others going at a very fast pace, and a few days either side should not matter, but you got to have the confidence in the group that helps.

So, the ball is in your court now to decide how you want to proceed with the submissions. Don't forget that we all are here to chip in, if you have any doubts or the need for our assistance. It is complete and it is FREE.

Good Luck.

FH.

You will send a lot of time on a parents visitor visa application. Get it right the first time and save yourself hassle. Use a professional.

Download the forms from cic website. There is checklist given. Start filling. You will know in the course of filling forms whether you need a professional or not.
The quota for accepting the number of such application is around 5k per year and this quota was over in 2015 Jan in first 10 days and in 2016, 3rd day onwards CIC stopped accepting the applications. More than an immigration lawyer you need a swift courier service to apply for the parents PR. So You have 11 months to fill all the forms and be ready. Remember, 02 Jan 2017 is the next key date.

A parents sponsorship application is a lot of work and there is a lot of information to go over. Get it right the first time and use a professional service.

It is such a waste of time and energy to put in an application and it gets refused over something so small that was missed. An immigration consultant can assist with your application. Let me know and I can recommend a good one.

If you are illiterate , use an Immigration Professional.

If you know how to fill in forms , do it yourself - more often than not , being your own case , you would do it more carefully - if you have any qs or doubts , there's no dearth of information on this on the internet and on CD itself.
