Hi guys,
I am sure about 80% of new immigrants have considered moving to Toronto and have mentioned such in their application. A few daredevils have chosen to land in Calgary, still others Vancouver.
I would like to ask you the reason behind choosing your desitination city. Why, oh why, did you choose Toronto? And, why have others chosen Calgary or Vancouver? I better not ask if you have decided to move to Regina or Halifax.
Toronto is over populated and this is a known fact for us who live in the GTA. The Canadian government wants people to fill up small towns too such as halifax and calgary, to name a few. When we applied for immigration, we chose Calgary as the landing point (port of entry). But we landed in Toronto and not Calgary. So it doesnt matter if u put Calgary as the port of entry. U can land anywhere in Canada if u wish to.
Choosing Calgary as an option for port of entry may or may not make a difference in your application. It is best to consult your immigration lawyer about this.
Regards.
There are very few Indians in the interior towns. In the town i am there must be only 1 % indians. No Indian grocery,No temple and 99% goras. Nearest city is 500 kms away. My friend here has got depressed and wants to go back to toronto but is scared of getting back to the labour job rut. The temperature goes to -40 Degc in winter.

North Alberta,
It is good to know about life in that part of Canada. Keep writing about it.
Espeically since you took a challenge to stay there, how rewarding it is compare to staying in Toronto and struggling with job.

North Alberta,
I am curious and wanted to experience life in deep interiour canada from a desi perspective ... many people have a feel from a tourist's perspective but how is life if one lives there
1. how welcome do you feel among the locals
2. what are the job prospects - there is a thought that there are many good jobs even govt jobs available in interior provinces which remain vacant because of no takers. how true is it?
3. how is life there in general , entertainment, socializing etc
4. we know property is relatively cheaper ...what would be the ave house cost.
5. how about education and medicals
Would be nice to know

What can be imagined, can be achieved.
I choose Calgary as it is one of the centre for Engineering Consultant companies and competion for findimng job is less than Toronto. Also I had few friends in Calgary.
