Hello Folks,
We all answer one question in most of our interviews " Why Choose Canada" and part of our answer is the best country to live in. What are your views about Canada?
Personally I love Canada (even though I have lived in more comfortable places other than india) and so far have seen the good side as well as the ugly side of it. Inspite of that we have achieved lots in two years of our being landed immigrant but at what cost? Stress, overworking, separating from our family back home or is is still a better life compared to back home.
Woudl reverse immigration be consider by most? I may head for one. Who knows I may live all my life in Canada.

I have been in canada for about 5 weeks now and all I say at this point is ... so far so good. I've been bracing myself for the winter as I hear lot of stories from people that have seen the worst of it.
My experience has been very pleasent so far. In comparison to US where I spent ~8 years ,I noticed a few thing different in Canada .
1)The govt. customer representives are very friendly and cordial. They take pains to explain every mundane detail to the immigrant and this is a remarkable difference I noticed so far.
2) The people I meet on day-to-day basis are generally very friendly and say hello every time I meet them in the hall way.
3) A lot of weightage is given to 'soft' skills. In an intensive competative fields interpersonal skills seem to make a whole world of difference.
4) The work environment seems to be generally relaxed and unions I hear wield a lot of power.
Finally, I believe that in this day and age it might be a folly to become emotionally attached to a place. In a dynamic and uncertain job environment one has to be ready and willing to be flexible based on career prospects and standard of living.
Regards,
Having lived outside India in Lagos (Nigeria), Jeddah, Dubai and London (England) for the past 8 years (in the order named) living in 'foren' lands has lost its sheen/appeal. All our family is out in India and we have no reason to lead a lonley and dreary existence in Canada.
I never thought that I would cross the borders of my own state but was fortunate enough to travel widely and live & work in 4 continents.
What I have noticed over the past few years is that the world indeed has become a global village. Once I get my citizenship I would seriously consider reverse immigration. It would be bring me close to my family. I don't think it's a step backward but rather forward looking considering that India's star is rising and it would be the place to be in 20 years time.
Why wait here to get citizenship - well it's like an insurance or keeping the door open. Being an Accountant, I am a bit conservative and believe in having a back-up plan
