Folks,
I have a question and I was hoping someone in the board might be able to answer it:
- I am a landed immigrant of Canada. Landed on April 2005. Since then I keep commuting back and forth between USA and Canada as I still have my USA job. Though I work mostly from home in Canada. I am on H1b in the states.
-Recently I got married and I was able to get my wife a 6 month multiple visitor visa.
- Now I am getting ready to apply for my wife and was wondering the pro's and con's of applying within canada vs outside canada.
- What I really want to find out is will my wife be able to travel outside canada after I have filed the application from within canada? Or does she have to wait for her application be approved before she can travel outside the country.
P.S: Some of you might recommend that I talk to an immigration attorney or consultant. I am willing to do that however I am not sure who to contact. Can you refer me some names? I saw the name Masood quite a few times in this board and had emailed his office inquiring about the fees and possible appoinment time 3 weeks back and did not hear anything back.
Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
----Now I am getting ready to apply for my wife and was wondering the pro's and con's of applying within canada vs outside canada
Applying from outside Canada is way more expedited then within Canada as it takes only (assuming you're from india or pak) 5-8 months most. On the other hand, could take more then 2 years or so as my friend is still going through the procedure since April 2004.
---- What I really want to find out is will my wife be able to travel outside canada after I have filed the application from within canada? Or does she have to wait for her application be approved before she can travel outside the country
As per you mentioned, she possess a valid TRV and If you wish to file her application within Canada, she can definately travel as long as her TRV is valid.
It would be best if you consult Mr. Massood over the phone to get the best info on these sensitive issues.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck
