I would suggest you to lodge a written complaint to the bldg super and would mention abt the racist comments in BOLD letters. Ask the super, if you need to call him in future, for any similar situation, what do you need to do.

Next time you watch DVD on your home theatre sys, make sure you have some company, and play your movie with the same volume level (be honest). As soon as this guy start the same behaviour, make sure that you keep calm, whatever may be his remark, just call the super immed (I don't know whether he'll come or not)By doing so, you'll have your company and super as witness, and if is guy has given any racist comments, go and lodge an official complaint to the local police. I guess, as long as you are not creating an unwanted situation, and playing the movie at proper level of volume, you do not have to worry abt what would happen, if you were to lodge a police complaint.

All said and done ..... there is no excuse for racial slurry. This is Canada... one word to the Police about this and you'll be opening a can of worms for yourself and your neighbor. Your neighbor ( safaid kachra ) has no case ..... but you still have to consider one thing .... you've got to do something about the bass from your system. Fortunately or unfortunately you live in a close proximity area. you've got to consider it.

i would still insist tht talk to either the supervisor and let him know about the racial slurry so as to if something happens tomorrow... at least you'll have the advantage of having a complain in records.

Seems most of the people replied to your post are either new immigrants or unaware of the police system here. Back home, police comes as the last option, but here it is not the same thing.

You should immediately report a written complaint to building super and to your division police officer. Super can't interfere in your personal matter, so won't be of much help. Police usually talk to the offender without mentioning the name of complainer. There is a strict law on racism, and that guy should learn the lesson.

Once police talks to him, you will see things will be much better. You also be considerate and make sure the volume is not that disturbing while you watch movie.

Talk to the guy again, if he is intransigient, complain to the super, if the super takes no action, complain to the police, but by no means take the law into your hands.Do not beat up the person, even if you are Dawood Ibrahim's brother.

if still you are in trouble and without solution, You can take legal advice from Community Legal Clinic. They have experts on their panel to help people from lower income group. You will get legal advice and do not have to pay huge fees of Lawyer.............dont feel scared of this guy, if he wishes to mess with you. Nothing is going to stop him.......
